From the April 23, 2001 editon of New York magazine A dog's life in the city is not an easy one. How can you expect your pooch to reach his or her full potential when all you're offering in the way of personal-growth opportunities is a walk around the block a couple of times a day? In the ever expanding world of continuing ed for canines, Andrea Arden is Ivy League. She's been in the business ten years, authored four books, and is on the board of The Association of Pet Dog Trainers. The six-class sessions ($300; limited to eight students) start just about every two weeks, with courses including Agility, Puppy and Adult Training, Tricks, Dealing With Difficult Dogs, and Clicker Training. Throughout May, there will be lectures ($25) every Wednesday night on topics ranging from "Bark Busting" to "Total Recall." |
